Annual Chamber Events 

The North Quabbin Chamber of Commerce produces a variety of events every year. It is our intent to produce and partner with other Chamber members to bring additional events to the entire nine-town North Quabbin region to enhance and attract tourism and commerce.

Midnight Madness! Holiday Shopping Tour

Held on the second Saturday of December, this very popular, local, discount shopping tour is just in time for holiday shopping. Participating businesses routinely describe it as the best sales day of the year for them. The event format is simple: businesses pay a small fee ($25) to participate. This helps offset advertising and transportation costs. Each business sets a discount policy although most use an increasing scale from 10% at the 6PM start up to 50% from 11PM to Midnight. Shoppers receive a scavenger hunt map and compete for prize packages worth up to $500. The Chamber arranges for holiday performances including carolers along the route through Athol and Orange as well as continuous bus service with stops near all those participating. Many businesses provide refreshments. It is a genuinely festive and profitable venture for everyone involved. Event sponsorship is $500.


Annual Chamber Outing

The Chamber and Visitors Bureau is proud to offer this newly revamped event. This event features a fully catered old-fashioned New England Barbeque with plenty of activities and games starting at 5 Pm. Live musical entertainment begins at 6 PM and goes throughout the evening. There are a variety of Chamber member businesses with booths and local beers and wine are served. Be sure to take a chance on our ball drop to win one of several high-dollar cash prizes. If you’re the golfing type, the day begins at noon sharp with a scramble style golf outing at Ellinwood Country Club. Event sponsorship is $500.  There are numerous sponsorship opportunities available for the event.


Fall Festival

Our Fall Festival is part Vendor Fair and part Block Party!  We close down Main Street in Athol and feature a parade, family-friendly entertainment, and a variety of businesses and services.  The event is scheduled for the third Saturday in September and runs all day.  Attendance is excellent and all nine North Quabbin towns are well represented in business and vendors.  Our Fall Festival is the perfect way to spend an early autumn Saturday in New England.  Event sponsorship is $500.


Annual Meeting & Dinner

Held every May, the Annual Meeting of the Membership is the Chamber’s official time to elect officers and conduct business required by charter and law.  It’s also the time for major plans to be unveiled for the coming year.  And to make the event well rounded, we serve dinner and conduct both a silent and live auction with items donated by members and the community.  The Chamber’s Annual Awards are bestowed on the  Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year, North Quabbin Inspiration, Director of the Year, & Presidential Service Award. Event sponsorship is $500.  Members may also choose to sponsor the meal itself, affording them the opportunity to place marketing materials on all tables and being featured in all marketing for the event.  Meal sponsorship is $750.


Mini Expos

In keeping with the current trend in business expos, the Chamber will offer a series of mini-expos in the coming year. These expos will have stronger focus on a single business sector. Planned events include a Health Care expo, Home Improvement and Real Estate Fair, Sporting and Recreation Festival and a Financial Services expo. Mini expos provide more time with attendees and have been shown to generate substantially more closeable contacts than general purpose expos and trade shows.  Event sponsorship is $500.

Annual Super Raffle & Holiday Party

Join us for an exciting evening with appetizers, cocktails, live entertainment and our Super Raffle drawing! The Annual Holiday Party starts at 6PM with plenty of holiday cheer and entertainment and builds up to a crescendo when we begin drawing the winners of our $10,000 Super Raffle. Raffle tickets are available beginning in September and are sold (providing there are any left) right up until drawing time. There are multiple prizes including a $1,000 prize to the seller of the winning ticket. The raffle is a fundraiser for the Chamber and helps us provide services to the community. Businesses also donate prize items for runners-up to the drawing, providing an excellent advertising opportunity. Event sponsorship is $500.
