The Friends of the New Salem Public Library will be having a Grand Opening Celebration and Open House of the new “Reimagined Library and Community Room” on Saturday, June 8th from 4-6 PM. Everyone is invited to see the beautiful new community meeting space, which also includes a kitchenette with sink, counter and storage cabinets and a new children’s area. In addition, the library was repainted with warm, welcoming colors, and several quiet reading and work areas added.
The project was made possible by a $10,000 grant from the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts, many generous donations to the Friends organization, and support from the Library Board of Trustees. Already numerous groups including Village Neighbors, Aging in Place, State Building Inspectors, a Writing Group, Yoga Class and local New Sa-lem Committees have signed up and used the new community room.
The Friends will be serving delicious desserts and appetizers as well as beverages at this special grand celebration on June 8th from 4-6 PM.
