New Executive Director

The Board of Directors of the North Quabbin Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau are pleased to announce the successful completion of their search for a new Executive Director, replacing the former Director, Mark Wright, who returned to the private sector.

"The Executive Committee moved swiftly to begin the candidate interview process. We are gratified to have had numerous, qualified applicants and even more so to have found Missi Eaton who is our clear choice for Executive Director", Said Tabitha Fournier, Board President.

Eaton has served as Legislative Aide to State Representative Susannah Whipps (I-Athol) since her first term in office. Among specific duties relative to the legislative calendar, Missi has spent most of her energies engaging with the communities the Chamber serves. She has run Whipps' district office, provided constituent services, and worked as a liason between State and local officials.

“Although Melissa’s appointment is a loss to my district office, I am very excited for her. In the last several years she has proven her commitment to the people of this region and I’m sure she’ll continue her great work as Director of the Chamber.”, said Whipps.

Eaton says she is grateful for the time she spent both in the district and at the State House with Whipps, working on behalf of the people of the North Quabbin region.

"Before I interviewed for the Director's position, I told my husband that it felt like the logical "next step"- using the skills, relationships and insights I gained to continue the work of the Chamber.”, said Eaton.

“This area has seen growth in new business over the past few years, and the Chamber has been instrumental thanks to the hard work of Mark Wright and the Board of Directors”, said Eaton. “I'm very excited to begin this new role and look forward to assisting current and future members of the Chamber in promoting and improving the business environment of the North Quabbin."

Eaton and her husband Dan have been residents of Athol for 20 years and have two adult daughters, who continue to remain active in the community. She reports to her new position September 3.

The Chamber covers eleven communities including: Athol, Barre, Erving, Hardwick, New Salem, Orange, Petersham, Phillipston, Royalston, Warwick and Wendell.
